Privacy policy

This is a translation of the Hebrew version, which prevails if the two differ.

This policy explains what information we collect when you use Hug4You, why, who we share it with, and what your rights are.

1. Who is responsible for the information

The controller of the Hug4You database is ART OF WALLS, an exempt dealer (עוסק פטור) registered in Israel. For any question: operations@hug4you.com.

2. What information we collect

• What you give us: your email; the name you write in the "From" field; the greeting details (the recipient's name, who it is for, the occasion, your words and choices); photos you upload; ratings and comments; cancellation or removal requests.
• What is made for you: the images and videos we made, and your orders, payments and refunds.
• Payment: your card details go directly to the payment provider. We only receive a payment confirmation and the last 4 digits of the card.
• Technical information: IP address, browser and device type, and server logs, so that the service works and is protected from abuse. Usage is measured in aggregate, without cookies.
• Information about other people: when you upload a photo of another person or write their name, you give us information about them. Only do so with their permission (see section 5 of the Terms of use).

3. Why we use the information

• to make your greetings, keep them in "My greetings" and send them;
• to let you sign in with a code or a link sent by email;
• to send emails about your order and your greeting;
• to handle payments, refunds, cancellations and requests;
• to prevent abuse and keep the service secure;
• to improve the service, for example based on ratings;
• to meet our legal obligations.

Your photos and videos are not used for AI training, advertising or a public gallery, and we do not use them to identify people.

4. Do you have to give us the information?

There is no legal obligation to give us information. Without an email you cannot buy a greeting, and without the recipient's name we cannot make it. A photo and a name in the "From" field are optional.

5. Who we share information with

• Google: makes the videos and images from your photo and words, through a paid service and under its data processing terms.
• Amazon Web Services: hosts the website, the files and the information, and sends the emails, on servers in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany).
• The payment provider: processes payments and issues receipts.
• Anyone who receives the link: anyone who has a greeting's link can watch it. You choose who to share it with.
• Authorities: if the law requires us to.

We do not sell personal information.

6. Transfers outside Israel

The information is stored on servers in the European Union. Making the videos and images at Google may take place in other countries, including the United States. Transfers are made under the Israeli Privacy Protection Regulations (Transfer of Information to Databases Abroad), 2001, and under the providers' commitments to protect the information.

7. How long we keep the information

• Images and videos in "My greetings": until you delete them. Anything unused for 12 months is deleted automatically.
• Uploaded photos that were not paid for: deleted after 7 days.
• Image versions you didn't choose: deleted after payment.
• A video that was refunded, or that you deleted: deleted, and its link stops working.
• Order and payment details: for as long as the law requires us to keep them, for example for tax purposes.
• Server logs: for a short time only.

8. Your rights

• You may review the information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, under the Israeli Privacy Protection Law.
• You can do some of this yourself in "My greetings": delete images and videos and change your name.
• For any other request: operations@hug4you.com.
• Anyone who appears in a video, even if they didn't order it, can ask for it to be removed through the "Report or remove this video" link on the greeting page.

9. Cookies

We only use essential cookies: to keep you signed in and to prevent abuse. Website usage is measured without cookies and without storing anything on your device.

10. Emails and marketing

• Emails related to your order, such as the order confirmation, "your greeting is ready" and sign-in codes, are always sent.
• We will not send you advertising without your explicit consent. "Remind me next year" is off by default. If you turn it on, we will send you a reminder before the occasion next year, and every reminder includes an unsubscribe link.

11. Information security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information: encrypted connections, private files that open only through temporary links, and restricted access. No system is completely immune. If there is a significant breach, we will act and give notice as the law requires.

12. Minors

The service is for people aged 18 and over. You may upload a photo of a child only if you are the parent or guardian, or have their permission.

13. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy from time to time, and the current version will be published here with its update date. We will give notice of any material change by email or on the website.
